Set up a public address

1 Name it

DuckDNS gives you a name like yournode.duckdns.org and keeps it pointed at this machine even when your home connection changes address. It is free and needs no card.

  1. Open duckdns.org ↗ and sign in with an account you already have.
  2. Type a name into the domain box and press add domain.
  3. Copy the token shown at the top of that page. It is the password for the name.

A name in front of it works too: mining.yournode publishes on mining.yournode.duckdns.org. There is nothing to add at duckdns.org for one of those -- only yournode is an account, and it is what gets kept pointed at this machine. Certificates for those names are issued over port 80, because DuckDNS can only put the record DNS validation needs on the account itself.
